BARISTA INTENSO 5KG
Product Details
In the cup
The Arabica carries the aroma and the sweetness, the Robusta adds weight, crema and a firmer finish. Where a pure Arabica can thin out in a large latte, this holds. Fuller bodied and more forgiving than Insignia, and deliberately less delicate.
Recommended recipe
18g in, 36 to 40g out, 27 to 30 seconds. Adjust to your grinder and your water. The Robusta gives you a wider margin for error than a pure Arabica, which matters when several people are working the machine through a rush. Rest three to five days off the roast date before dialling in.
The volume saving
5kg works out at ₹1,440 a kilo against ₹1,600 on the 1kg, a saving of ₹800 across the box. At an 18g dose that is roughly 275 double shots, or about ₹26 a shot.
Storing 5kg properly
Buying volume only pays if the last kilo tastes like the first. Keep the bag sealed and away from heat, light and the espresso machine itself, and decant into your hopper as you go rather than filling it. Most cafés work through 5kg in two to three weeks, which is comfortably inside the window. If it will take you longer than a month, the 1kg is the better buy even at the higher rate.
Who it's for
High volume cafés, milk-drink led menus, hotel breakfast service. If most of your sales are cappuccinos and lattes rather than black coffee, this is the better buy over Insignia.
